Whew.

The Ex has been busy with her crap lately.  Not so much with Husband or me, but definitely with Son and Daughter.   The Ex had previously told her family that she wanted to have a huge get-together on the 4th of July; she wanted to celebrate all of the birthdays, Mother's Day, and Father's Day that they had missed together because of the pandemic.  Daughter also told me that The Ex said she might add Daughter's graduation party into the mix as well.   It almost seems as if The Ex really doesn't care about Daughter's graduation, considering that she was just going to lump her graduation celebration in with everything else.  Not only that but a few weeks ago she had sent a video to her family of herself talking about what an "awesome job" her youngest son had done with his at-home schooling.  The Ex claimed that her son, who was in 2nd grade, had "3X as much homework" as her daughter, who was in 6th grade; The Ex also claimed that her son had rec...

Time sure flies when you're unhappy.

Daughter had told us a few weeks ago that The Ex had planned a family trip for this past weekend.  Daughter said they were going to go hiking and see waterfalls.  ( If you don't remember, Ned took The Ex on what she referred to as a "waterfalling" trip in November 2016.  Now they've decided to go again and this time felt it was important enough to include the kids.  You can read about the original trip  here  and here . )  Daughter said their whole family was going, including Son and Girlfriend. ( I don't think Lucifer was included, which shouldn't surprise me but whatever. )   Daughter mentioned one day that she needed to bring money for this family trip that The Ex had planned because The Ex had told her that "they were going to be eating out at a lot of restaurants, and they couldn't be buying all of her meals." ( I asked Son and Girlfriend earlier this year if they wanted to go out-of-state to visit Husband's family; I said I'd buy ...

Bits and pieces lately.

We haven't had any communication with The Ex in months.  She still has not logged into 2houses since December.  She hasn't paid toward her half of the medical bills since March.  I'm not concerned about collecting the money because it's a court order and she's legally obligated to pay.  My concern is that all of the receipts have been sent over 2houses for almost 6 years now; I'm not going to keep paying to use 2houses after Daughter turns 18 this year, so we're going to have to go back to court before the subscription expires so that we can prove that we did, in fact, supply her with the receipts within the appropriate timeframe as previously ordered by the court.  I have enough experience with The Ex that I know she'll walk into court, lie through her teeth, and claim that she never received any receipts from Husband.   It's not the biggest deal in the world, just another hoop she's making us jump through.  The Ex has told Daughter that she w...

The pot is practically screaming that the kettle is black.

Last night, The Ex shared a video titled "Busy Dad Gets Wake Up Call" on her Facebook.  Along with this video, she tagged Boyfriend and wrote: "[Boyfriend first & last name]... Don't ever message me and ask me if the kids are with me... I got them excited that you were going to call... Don't you EVER tell them you will call them again tomorrow, next week. Because your tomorrows are months... I have kept our kids safe and protected them from so much. You killed ME, when I told them you were calling and didn't. For your kids, watch this to the end..."   The Ex's "best friend" ( The woman who "held The Ex and Ned together" during their "shitty wedding" and is divorced from a relative of Boyfriend's ) was the first to comment: "Unfortunately, broken promises run in his family.  But like I tell [the friend's son], remember how you feel so you never do the same thing to your children.  Your kids will grow up...

Home sweet home.

I had previously blogged that Girlfriend had been telling Daughter that The Ex wanted to buy a house with Ned; you can read about that here .   A few weeks ago, Husband took Daughter to work one day.  While they were driving, Daughter started telling Husband that The Ex and Ned are buying a house together; Daughter said that they'd already looked at 2 houses and they really liked one of them.  Daughter said that Ned had commented that the house was probably priced at its lowest point right now.  Daughter also said that this house is "20 minutes closer to us." ( The Ex must have thought this would somehow make Daughter excited that she was moving "closer" to her...?  It seems extremely stupid to me that they'd move 20 minutes closer to us because that means they'd be 20 minutes farther from both of their jobs, the kids' school, Son & Girlfriend, and even Ned's son.  How is this an improvement? )  Daughter also said that they were going to ...

Quarantine but not.

With all this COVID-19 absurdity everywhere, you know that The Ex is going to do whatever makes the least amount of sense regarding it.   Our state closed the schools and non-essential businesses about a month and a half ago.  The day that they made the announcement, The Ex's younger sister called Daughter and asked if she was going to come up to Tiny City for spring break because she "didn't have to go to school."  Daughter told her she didn't know what was happening. ( This was our year for spring break so even if the schools had not closed, Daughter still would have been staying here. )   It also happened to be our weekend with Daughter when they announced that everything closed.  After everything was shut down for a week, it was supposed to be The Ex's placement weekend.  Daughter texted me on Friday afternoon:      Daughter:  So like dad is sleeping but I want to ask him if I can go to moms but don't want to wake him (...

Daughter is friends with this guy who's a few years older than she is.  Somehow, The Ex got this guy's phone number and has been texting him; he hasn't answered her so The Ex wanted Daughter to ask him for an explanation as to why she was being ignored.  This is what The Ex has sent to him so far: March 6 8:49pm  - TELL [DAUGHTER] HER NAILS LOOK LIKE SHIT!!! 🤮 ( This was because Daughter had acrylic nails on, which The Ex repeatedly told her "look gross." ) March 22 4:02pm - Hi [name] 4:02pm - R u awake 4:03pm - We need to talk 4:03pm - SERIOUSLY 4:05pm - [First and last name]. How much do you like my daughter? 4:06pm - I know [Daughter] told u not to answer... but we should talk April 7 9:22pm - Good Evening Sir!!!! 9:23pm - Why are you not replying to my messages from days ago... 🤔 9:23pm - My daughter is very upset 9:23pm - She hates me 9:24pm - When you don't reply she cries 9:25pm - Her nails now look so beautiful, don't they??? 9:26pm - Those f...
