As noted in an earlier blog post, The Ex refers to Ned as "Dad" when she's speaking to Son and Daughter. The Ex programmed Ned's contact information into Son's phone as "Dad [Ned]" to try and upset Husband. The Ex and Ned continue to make references to "their family" or "their kids." This morning, I've learned that The Ex is now trying to terminate Boyfriend's parental rights. I speculated that she's going to then try to have Ned adopt her two youngest children. I wondered why she was rushing through this and now feel very silly for not immediately realizing that if Ned does adopt them, he will be stuck paying child support when The Ex finally leaves him. However, our state requires that the two of them be married in order for an adoption to take place.
