Tournament details
So circling back to this tournament that took place a few weeks ago...you remember, the one where The Ex told Daughter that Husband was lying because he didn't give her the exact street address so she and Ned had to Google it, yet she wanted Daughter to give her the address because she couldn't bother doing it herself immediately after stating that's what she had done in the past? Yeah, that tournament.
Five days before the tournament, we got an email with the tournament schedule. Husband sent the schedule to The Ex and told her that Daughter's first game would be at 9:30am on Friday; he said the rest of the games would be determined by if her team won or lost but she would have at least one game on Saturday. The Ex read the message and didn't reply (And then told Daughter that Husband was "lying" about the info being on the calendar.)
Daughter made the comment that The Ex was getting a hotel room near the host school for the weekend. The kids asked what time The Ex was picking them up; we told them, truthfully, that we didn't know because The Ex hadn't told us anything so we didn't know what she was planning.
Friday morning, we found out that Daughter's first game was moved to another school. Husband had taken the day off so he drove with the other parents to watch the game. The Ex walked in when the game was more than halfway over. When the game ended, Husband told her that the next game would be played at 8pm at the host school. The Ex snapped, "Well, I already went over there!" (This is her way of complaining that Husband didn't tell her that the game was at a new address even though we had no idea she was even coming to the game in the first place. We were operating off of a history that has shown whenever Daughter has a tournament, The Ex asks to switch weekends or simply leaves Daughter here with us.)
Daughter played her second game that evening and was told that her team would be playing at 10am but she needed to be at the school by 9:15am to warm up. I physically heard Daughter state to The Ex that she needed to be at the school by 9:15am and asked if she could come to the 8am game also; The Ex picked up her youngest son and walked out of the school without answering Daughter.
Saturday morning, we got to the school and asked where Daughter was; her coach said she didn't know but she hadn't shown up yet that morning. I sent Daughter a text at 10:04am asking where she was, saying that her team was on the court. Husband sent The Ex a text message asking where they were and stating that Daughter was supposed to have been at the school nearly an hour ago. No response from either of them. Daughter ran into the gym at 10:07am, after the game had already started.
The hotel they stayed at was literally less than 10 miles away and was a fifteen-minute drive if you drove exactly the speed limit, which means that they didn't leave the hotel until almost 10am. We later found out that Daughter had called The Ex slightly after 9:20am, asking what she was doing. The Ex said she was "finishing getting dressed and packing." (They spent one night at a hotel. What could they possibly have unpacked?) Daughter stated that she was supposed to have been at the school ten minutes ago. The Ex said, "No, you said- you just told me this morning, you should have told me last night. (I heard Daughter tell her last night.) You said you needed to be there at 10 (No, she didn't. Daughter said that her game started at 10 so she needed to be there at 9:15, and she asked if they could come to the 8am game.)" Then before Daughter could say anything more or clarify what had actually happened, The Ex announced that she needed to get going and hung up.
Let that sink in: The Ex made everyone late due to her lack of planning, blamed someone else for it, lied about what happened, and then hung up on her own daughter.
