She's such a horrible person.

Son and Girlfriend have been looking for an apartment that they can afford.  They had been approved for a low-income apartment, but she told me that it was under new management and they probably were not going to get that one after all.  They finally found one for only $600 a month, which really isn't terrible.  Girlfriend told me that it's about 20 minutes outside of Tiny City; they're moving in on March 1st.

Girlfriend said that she and Son have the $600 for the security deposit, but not the $600 for the first month's rent.  Girlfriend's parents offered to loan them the money until Son gets his tax return money next month.  They didn't want to borrow the full amount from Girlfriend's parents if they could help it; Girlfriend said that they weren't even going to ask Husband & me for it saying, "You've already done so much for us, it's unreal." (I don't think we've done "so much" for them.  I wish they were closer so that we could help out more often.) They decided that they would borrow $300 from Girlfriend's parents and ask The Ex if she would loan them the remaining $300 for about a month or so.

Now, The Ex could have just said no.  The Ex could have said that she didn't want to.  The Ex could have said that she didn't have the money to loan them.  The Ex had a number of ways that she could have handled the situation, but she obviously chose the worst possible way.

Girlfriend told me that The Ex started yelling at Son for asking to borrow money from her and went on a tangent about "everything that she had done for him." (Besides bring chaos into his life, I have no clue what The Ex thinks she "did for him.")  Girlfriend said that Son came home, practically in tears and feeling horrible about himself.  She said that later, allegedly The Ex called and apologized, saying that she would lend them the money; they said they were going to borrow the money from Girlfriend's parents and The Ex didn't need to worry about it.  Girlfriend said supposedly that The Ex was already upset with Ned about something so when Son asked her for a loan, she snapped at him.  Girlfriend said Son was so upset that she "wanted to punch [The Ex's] stupid face."

I told Girlfriend that this was a total joke, considering that The Ex owed Husband almost $350 for medical bills but she's going to act like she needs her money when she's not even paying her bills.  I also said that The Ex got insurance through her job when Son was still 17 years old but didn't get coverage for him.  I said, "But she's 'done so much for him'?  She can kiss every part of my lily white ass."

She's just so toxic.  I wish these poor kids could learn how to break away from her.
