Caught in her web of lies
I am taking some slight satisfaction in the fact that The Ex has officially lied herself into a corner.
The Ex came to Daughter's game on Friday night, walked up to us and gave Husband a copy of her insurance cards. (Even though she claimed to only have one card, she managed to photocopy both the front and the back of the card at the same time. Isn't that impressive?) Husband asked if it was for both kids. The Ex said no, Son was not covered; she said someone at her work was "checking into it for her" to see if Son could still get covered if The Ex provided the required documents. Husband said to let him know what they gave her for an answer and thanked her for the card.
I called the customer service number on the back of the dental card and tried to verify coverage for Daughter. The automated system said it didn't recognize her birth date. Hmmm....that's weird. I called the number on the back of the medical card and tried again with Daughter's birth date; nope, not recognizing it.
I looked at the front of the card. On the bottom left, it reads:
"Issue Date: 12/23/2014"
But...but wait a minute. The Ex said it is Husband's fault that Son isn't covered, because Husband didn't give her a copy of Son's birth certificate. But the one and only time she requested the birth certificate was on 12/25, which was two days after the card had already been issued. Why would she have to submit proof if the card had already been issued???
Later that night, I called the number on the medical card again. I entered The Ex's info, but entered her birth date instead of Daughter's; it went through to the main menu. (Ohhh, boy.) I press 1 to hear the eligibility information, and am very quickly informed that the policy is "employee only."
SHE NEVER SIGNED SON OR DAUGHTER UP FOR HEALTH INSURANCE.

Now, I realize that I suspected this is exactly what she was going to do. Hell, I probably would have bet money on it. My incredulity is based off of how this entire thing has played out. Let's recap:
09/02/14 - Husband asked when The Ex would be getting coverage. The Ex ignored him.
09/02/14 - Husband asked when The Ex would be getting coverage. The Ex ignored him.
09/17/14 - Husband asked a second time when The Ex would be getting coverage. The Ex ignored him.
09/22/14 - Husband asked a third time when The Ex would be getting coverage. The Ex ignored him.
10/17/14 - Husband asked a fourth time when The Ex would be getting coverage. The Ex ignored him until Husband sent a physical letter and CC'd the court, outlining that The Ex was not following the order about responding to communication.
10/22/14 - The Ex finally replied, saying the kids should be covered "by the first of the year" and said the "lady in the office has things messed up with both her medical and dental insurance." Husband assumed that the insurance was now taken care of.

(Shortly after this, Husband began using only 2houses to communicate because The Ex was claiming she wasn't receiving his emails.)
11/25/14 - The Ex sends a message at 7:45pm saying she needs Son's social security number, and that the following day was the last day to sign up for insurance. Husband replied and told her that she already had Son's number.

11/26/14 - The Ex sends a message at 7:04am saying she "still doesn't have Son's number."
11/26/14 - Husband sends a message saying The Ex already had Son's number and there shouldn't be a problem with coverage because The Ex said in October that she already had paperwork turned in.
12/25/14 - The Ex called and sent a message saying she needed a copy of Son's birth certificate, saying the deadline was 12/27/14. The Ex said she wanted to pick up the copies on 12/26/14 if that would work for Husband. She signed it with, "Otherwise [Son] will not be covered and I really hope you can get that for me."
12/26/14 - Husband replied and asked who was asking for the birth certificate, asked what the fax number was that it needed to be sent to, asked how long she had known the birth certificate was needed, and asked when the deadline had been moved from 11/26 to 12/27. The Ex ignored him.

01/08/15 - I spoke to an HR rep at The Ex's work who said if she was required to submit anything for benefits, she would have been given a cover sheet that would need to be submitted with the documents.
01/12/15 - Husband asked The Ex to provide her insurance information. The Ex ignored him.
01/15/15 - Husband asked for a second time for The Ex's insurance information. The Ex sent an entirely new message and ignored his question about her insurance.
01/15/15 - Husband replied to The Ex's message and asked for a third time when she would be providing her insurance information. The Ex ignored him.
01/19/15 - Husband asked for a fourth time when The Ex would be providing her insurance information. The Ex ignored him.
01/26/15 - Husband asked for a fifth time for The Ex's insurance information.
01/26/15 - The Ex replied, said she got a letter from her insurance saying Son was not covered; she blamed this on of Husband's "lack of trust" and his "not providing a birth certificate." The Ex lied and claimed she had given Husband the fax number to send Son's birth certificate.
01/26/15 - Husband replied that even if Son was not covered, Daughter should be; he asked a sixth time for The Ex to provide her insurance information. The Ex ignored him.
01/28/15 - Husband messaged and said it was the seventh and final time he would be requesting The Ex's insurance information; if she continued to refuse to provide it, he would ask the court to take action.
01/28/15 - The Ex replied that she had a copy of her insurance card and would be giving it to Husband on Friday.
01/28/15 - Husband asked The Ex to bring the letter she received and the paperwork that she was provided to fax in Son's birth certificate. The Ex ignored him.

01/30/15 - Husband sent some receipts and reminded The Ex to bring the paperwork.
01/30/15 - The Ex provided insurance cards and said someone was "looking into it" to see if she could still get Son covered.
.....this was easier for The Ex. It was easier to dick around and blatantly lie and make things up and request things she didn't need instead of just saying, "I don't have coverage for them." She blamed Husband for something not happening, when it was never going to happen in the first place because she didn't enroll either one of the kids.
Seriously, what is wrong inside of this woman's mind?!
