Security is silly.
The other day, I was on the website for Tiny City's school. I don't remember what I was looking for, it wasn't very important. I was clicking different links and looking at stuff they had posted. I clicked the link for registration forms and oh my goodness.
For the last three years, the idiots in Tiny City scan all of their new students' school enrollment paperwork and save it publicly to Google Drive. As in, anyone can access the students' paperwork. It's got the kids' names, addresses, parents' phone numbers and emails, doctor and dentist information, whether the kid is riding the bus, etc. This covers kids from 4K through high school. If I had a kid in that district, I'd be pretty pissed off that all of their information was available on the Internet like that. Personally, I don't think it's safe whatsoever.
While I disapprove of how they handle this, the upside is that I was able to get a copy of the paperwork that The Ex had completed back in late August when she tried enrolling Son in the high school at Tiny City without Husband's knowledge or consent. This didn't prove to be any less entertaining than any of the other paperwork that The Ex has filled out. In fact, I keep finding new things wrong with it each time I look at it.
The first page has Son's name, date, and location of birth, and ethnicity. The Ex did not check a box for his race because...I don't know why. She listed his primary language as English, which made me giggle because when she moved to New City eleven years ago, she told the school that the kids' home language was Spanish and they both had to take an English proficiency test. The Ex listed the name, address and phone number of Son's high school in School City; again, I have to laugh. All these years, she's always asked Husband or Son or Daughter to give her addresses and phone numbers. But now suddenly, The Ex is able to obtain all of this information without any assistance....because she wants to.
There was a section titled, "Family of Residence (Family student lives with)". The Ex listed her name, checked the box for "mother", listed her cell phone number, her employer and their phone number, and her email address. Again, I'm so happy to have a copy of this because The Ex told Husband over a year ago that her email wasn't working, yet that's the exact same email address that she provided to the school.
Underneath that was room to write the information for a second parent/guardian. The Ex wrote down Husband's name, checked the box for "father", wrote down his cell phone and his employer. Then, she drew a line through all of it and wrote down Ned's name, checked the box for "stepparent", (So now the second parent information said that Ned was both father and stepfather. Ned is neither.) listed Ned's cell number, his employer and their phone number. The Ex listed their address. The school asked for information on all other children under 21 years of age living in their household. The Ex listed her daughter, her son, and Ned's son.
Page two asked for second family information. It asked if reports should be mailed to the second family; The Ex checked the box for yes. Then it asked if the second family could come to the school and take responsibility if she couldn't be contacted. The Ex checked "no". (Excuse me? Who gave you the authority to decide that Husband was not allowed to come to Tiny City and exercise his parental rights over his own legal and biological child?) The Ex then listed Husband's name, cell phone, employer and address. When it asked for second parent information and any kids under 21 in our household, she left those areas blank. I'm absolutely certain this was intentional, particularly after she has repeatedly accused me of not providing her information to the schools and claiming that I told the staff in School City that I am Son and Daughter's mom.
Then there was a section titled, "Separated/Divorced/Never Married Parent Information" and immediately after the title was written, "A certified copy of the court order information is required to be on file at the student's school." The Ex must have either a)submitted old paperwork showing she had placement or b)not submitted any paperwork at all. It asked for the type of action - divorce, separation, annulment, never married, or custody dispute - and The Ex didn't select any of them. She listed Husband's name, listed the current status of the action as "divorced" and then answered some questions.
Is there a court order dealing with custody or visitation? Yes.
Are you the custodial parent? Yes (When she filled this out, she hadn't been the custodial parent for eight years.)
Is there a joint custody order? Yes
Should your child be released from school to the other parent? Yes and no (Ummm.....?)
If no, please explain: Only during his placement time (I don't really think this was necessary; we've never pulled the kids from school just for the hell of it, whether we had custody or not. You're the one that got truancy letters from two different school districts when the kids were still in elementary school.)
The next page had Son's information with The Ex's address and phone number. Family 1-Guardian 1 had The Ex listed, again with her email that she claimed wasn't working. Family 1-Guardian 2 had Ned listed, including still referring to him as Son's stepdad. (Just because you're playing house with this douche doesn't make him your kids' stepdad. It's the same BS she pulled with Boyfriend eleven years ago.) Family 2-Guardian 1 had Husband listed. Family 2-Guardian 2 was blank, again. (Now I know it's intentional. Ned has been around for less than three years, they're not married and she tells the school that he's a stepparent. I've been around for twelve years and have been a stepparent for nine of those twelve years; she refuses to even acknowledge me.)
The Ex again wrote down her two youngest kids' and Ned's son's information, listed her parents and sister as the contacts if she was unable to be reached. The Ex wrote that Son should "be picked up/dropped of by bus" when asked what should be done if there was an emergency closing. (I'm not entirely sure how this would work but if there was an emergency which forced the school to close, why would the bus company still be providing transportation? And yes, she wrote "dropped OF by bus.") When she signed this, she started to sign it with Boyfriend's last name, caught herself, and then wrote over it darker with her maiden name.
The next sheet was health information. The Ex listed Son's name, a nickname that only she calls him, his date of birth, the school year and grade he was entering, her phone number and name. Son's physician and dentist were left blank. (Again, he's seen the same people for eight years. She doesn't know who they are, or even what their names are.)
The sheet after was a home language survey. The Ex again indicated that Son's home language was English. (It's still funny to me.)
The final sheet was for transportation. The Ex listed herself and Ned as Son's parent/guardian and gave the school her cell phone. She indicated that Son would be riding the bus both to and from school. (Son has his own car that he drives to and from school, takes himself to work, drives to his friends' houses, etc. He loves that freedom. He'd be miserable riding the bus.)
Not only is she in contempt for not paying for her half of the kids' medical bills and refusal to communicate, but now we have proof that she tried to enroll Son in an alternate school without Husband's consent and lied on the paperwork claiming to be the custodial parent. Oh, and she provided an email address which she told Husband didn't work which was her excuse as to why she didn't respond to his messages as agreed upon and as ordered by the court.
I honestly can't wait for the next time we have to go back. A judge will love the fact that she blatantly disobeys the court's order and disregards its authority, especially after they previously ruled she was in contempt for the exact same thing.
