Can't Buy Me Love.
If you've followed this blog for any period of time, you've probably noticed that The Ex has a tendency to always claim that she never has any money. This whining is not lost on the kids. A few weeks ago, Husband asked Daughter if she wanted to eat before she left; she said no and that she was going to have The Ex buy her dinner and then added, "With money she doesn't have."
About two months ago, I blogged about The Ex posting on Facebook and implying that Husband "buys" Son's love. You can read that post here.
Daughter recently told me that The Ex was irritated because she had ordered hoodies with Daughter's basketball team logo on them, but had received an email stating that they were unable to fulfill her order. Daughter said that The Ex had spent $74 buying a hoodie for Daughter, a hoodie or shirt for Ned, and two hoodies for herself. (Quite a big spender for someone who "doesn't have any money," but okay.)
Then last night we were discussing the basketball pictures. The Ex told Daughter that she wants the $90 package for photos. Daughter also asked, "Are you gonna be mad if Mom gets my senior banner?" I asked if The Ex was paying for it. Daughter said she was going to pay for it and The Ex was "going to pay her back." I told Daughter that I wanted it so that I could hang it up at her graduation party like one of her friends' parents had done last year. Daughter said she liked that idea and said maybe we could just each buy our own banner.
The reason I'm bringing this up again now is that The Ex allegedly "doesn't have any money" and hasn't made a payment toward the kids' medical bills in almost 4 months; the oldest bill dates back almost 4 years and the balance is now over $335. Daughter has been playing basketball for nine years; five years at her grade/middle school and now four years at her high school. The Ex has never bought anything to represent her team, her school, her sports, or her in general. Yet in the last 2 months, The Ex has spent over $200 on basketball apparel and pictures.
But we're "buying" Son's love.
