First birthday.

Our grandson recently turned one!!!  We spent the night at Son & Girlfriend's apartment since they've got room for all of us to fit now.  The weekend was really nice, but this blog isn't about my family; it's about The Ex and all the drama that she causes.   Saturday afternoon, we drove up to Tiny City to meet Son and Girlfriend at their place.  Then we drove over to the hall where they were having his birthday party to help set up and decorate; Girlfriend's parents were there already.  We all helped out and got done pretty quickly.  We went back to the apartment.  While we were there, Girlfriend started telling Daughter that The Ex wants to buy a house in Tiny City with Ned. ( Just a reminder:  Ned already owns his own house.  It's little but it's his and has been for almost 15 years now.  He bought the land, built the house, got married and divorced, and has kept it the entire time. ) Girlfriend said that there was a hous...

The honeymoon is over.

The other day, Daughter decided that she was going to spill more tea.  Not a cup, not a bottle, not a quart.  Daughter dropped an entire 55-gallon drum of tea.   Daughter told me that Son went over to Ned & The Ex's house because recently, The Ex has been saying that she wants to leave Ned. ( They hadn't even hit their 10-month anniversary of being married and she already wants to bail. )  Daughter said that prior to Son coming over, the two of them had a 45-minute phone call about The Ex.  The two of them were on the same page; Daughter said, "If she leaves, she has to think of the kids because the kids have gotten to know [Ned] so well that the kids want to call him 'Dad'." ( What I wanted to say was, "This is exactly the same thing that your mom pulled on you and Son with Boyfriend.  Your mom didn't give a shit about you and Son back then; why would she give a shit about her kids now?!"  Instead, I bit my tongue here and just let her ...

Oh, my heart ❤

Son and Girlfriend are getting their own apartment.  We said we'd come to Tiny City and help them get packed and/or moved.  They ended up moving a little earlier so we took all the kids with us and we went to visit for the day.  We got to Girlfriend's parents' house, helped them load up some stuff, and followed them to their apartment.  We were helping unload stuff and carry it into the house, setting things up, and cleaning little things here and there.  I also brought lunch which is one of Son's favorites.  Son commented that I was "the first person to cook in their kitchen," like he was so happy we were there.   Son and Husband went to the store to get some drinks for everyone.  Son talked to Ned on the phone; Ned said that The Ex had a migraine so he was going to take a drive and come over for a little bit.  Son said to Husband that The Ex knew they'd been in and out of the apartment for the last 2 days, but she hadn't come by; h...

Tattoos.

Husband and I recently made an appointment and got matching tattoos that we've wanted for quite some time.  It's a bible verse about marriage and we also included a cross.  I absolutely love them, plus it's been at least 15 years since I've gotten a tattoo so I was pretty excited.   Since that's the common topic, Daughter made a comment today about how she and The Ex have talked about getting matching tattoos.  She said that she, Son, and The Ex have talked about the 3 of them all getting matching tattoos.  Daughter said that Son had agreed on some symbol with a heart and an infinity symbol because The Ex would tell them over the phone that she loved them "eternity times eternity" so that's where the infinity symbol comes into play.  Daughter said that she didn't know if she wanted that symbol and she thought it was kind of girly for Son to get; she said she wanted to get a matching one with just The Ex and not with Son.   Now this isn't ne...
