Now it gets crazy
We had a court hearing that Friday for venue change; our GAL had been appointed a commissioner, our commissioner had been appointed a judge and our judge was retiring, so we requested that the venue be changed to our county instead of The Ex's county. When we went to the hearing, we filed an emergency motion requesting that The Ex's placement be suspended or restricted due to the head lice and Boyfriend's alcoholism. Attorney 3 stated to the judge that he was representing The Ex only regarding her pending motion to modify child support due to her job loss. The Ex didn't attend the hearing because she was attending Boyfriend's immigration hearing out-of-state.
The judge heard everything, agreed that the venue should be changed but because The Ex already had a pending motion, it would be heard in that county and the venue change would take place afterward. Fair enough; the hearing was in two weeks anyway.
The day of the child support hearing, Our Attorney called me and said court was cancelled. Supposedly, Attorney 3 had gone to the emergency room and wasn't able to attend the hearing, so they cancelled it. We tried to get venue changed, something was left out of the order so the judge refused to sign it (Which I still think was silly, since she's the same judge who had already ruled it would be changed) Before the new paperwork could get sent it, Attorney 3 rescheduled the child support hearing on a date Our Attorney wasn't available. Somewhere along the line, the court was under the impression that Our Attorney had spoken to them and confirmed this date (I still personally believe that Attorney 3 was shady enough to have someone, maybe even The Ex, call in and pretend to be Attorney just to get the date locked in) Our Attorney told the court she wasn't available that date; the court refused to change it because "she" had confirmed it. Husband wrote a letter to the commissioner explaining he could not afford to hire another attorney for one day, asking for reconsideration.
In the meantime, Boyfriend had somehow been released and was back in the house. We had been withholding placement from The Ex this entire time because...well, wouldn't you?
Sometime in November, Our Attorney called me and said The Ex had new representation in our county; Attorney 4 agreed to do the venue change prior to hearing the pending child support motion. The venue transferred in the middle of December, nothing more happened until the New Year.
