Love Hurts.

This might be my longest blog post to date.  Grab yourself a drink and some popcorn, because you'll be here awhile.    Daughter has been seeing someone for over a year now; we'll call him Guy.  I'd really prefer to call him Douche because that's what he is, but anyway...that's not the point of this blog.  This particular post is going to be about Daughter and Guy, and how The Ex is royally f*cking with Daughter's head.   Now truth be told, I do not like Guy.  Daughter had a couple of "boyfriends" in high school and I never had a problem with any of them while she was dating them.  I liked them, had no objections to Daughter spending time with them, and liked seeing her happy.  Guy?  No thank you.  Daughter could be doing so much better, and I'm not even talking physical appearances.   The first problem I have is that Guy is slightly over four years older than Daughter; the two of them started "talking" when she was only ...

Things lately.

For Husband and myself, life has been amazingly calm since we got our final money from The Ex and we haven't had any contact with her.  The only time she affects us is when she's messing with Son and/or Daughter's minds...I can't help myself, I get angry.  They didn't ask for her to be their mother, and they don't deserve for her to be their mother.   A couple of weeks after The Ex skipped out on Grandson's birthday party, Girlfriend told me that The Ex messaged Son saying that she was throwing a birthday party for her niece & nephew's daughters, and she wanted to know if Son & Girlfriend were going to come.  Girlfriend said that Son pointed out that The Ex wouldn't even come to her own grandson's party, but was now throwing a party for two kids that weren't her grandkids; allegedly The Ex replied, "Wow."  As in, "How dare you even be offended that I missed your son's party but am willing to host a party for two ...

She's pure garbage.

My last blog post was talking about Son's anxiety over Grandson's party and how he thought that The Ex was going to start a fight and cause a scene.  As it turns out, he had absolutely nothing to worry about.   The Ex didn't come.   Seriously.  She missed her own grandson's birthday party.  Before I get into the party itself, I'll go back a few days because there was a lot of tea that got spilled.  Buckle up, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.   Girlfriend told me on Thursday that they were over at The Ex's and said that The Ex was running her mouth and being petty.  On Friday, she told me that The Ex claimed that Son told her that I was planning on rolling my eyes at her during the party "just to piss her off"; Son looked at her and said, "I have never once said that."  The Ex also told them that she bought presents to give to Granddaughter at the birthday party so that she could "look better than everyone."  Girlfriend then went on...

Birthday anxiety.

Grandson turned two this week! I honestly do not know how it's already been two years since he was born.  They're having his birthday party this weekend.  Originally they were planning on having the party at Girlfriend's parents' house for a few reasons.  One was that Girlfriend's grandma is paranoid about COVID and most likely wouldn't come if they had a big guest list.  Another is that they didn't really have the money for a hall.  Another is that they rented a huge hall last year and Girlfriend said she felt like it was excessive considering what they paid and how many people actually came.  Since they started planning the party, Girlfriend's parents found a smaller hall to rent so they paid for it and the party will be held there instead.    Son and Girlfriend came to visit with the kids last month.  While they were visiting, Son brought up Grandson's birthday party.  Son said he was kind of "freaking out" because everybody w...

Sorry for the radio silence...

Husband's mom passed away a few weeks ago.  While it wasn't completely out of left field, we just...weren't ready.  Fortunately we were able to go to his home state for the funeral.   I am honestly surprised that my body can make such a copious amount of tears.  I have never cried this much in my entire life.  It didn't really start to sink in for Husband until the night before the funeral.  He couldn't sleep and then he just started crying, which lead to me holding him and crying with him.   Son didn't react well to the news.  He's been seeing a psychiatrist who has him on anti-depressants and mood stabilizers; Girlfriend said he was a wreck for a few days after I'd told him what happened.  During a video chat the day after the burial, Son had told Husband that he "couldn't bring himself to watch [the memorial video]" on the funeral home's website; he started crying which made Husband cry.  Son & Girlfriend came down to...

Facebook needs to block The Ex from their platform.

The other day, The Ex copied-and-pasted one of those quizzes about your kids; it asks questions like, "Who is the loudest?" and you're supposed to answer which of your children applies to the question.  The Ex decided to do this, but twice - first for her kids with Boyfriend, and second for Son and Daughter.  I don't understand why she didn't do all four kids in one quiz, but whatever.   For the first quiz, The Ex posted: "Parents who have more than 1 child, no matter the age- let's see the difference between your kids. This should be fun! 😂 Here's between [The Ex's daughter] and [The Ex's son]!!! •Most stubborn? [The Ex's daughter] •Most laid back? [The Ex's son] •Worst temper? [The Ex's son] ( ...how can he be the most laid back and have the worst temper?? ) •Most likely to share? [The Ex's son] •Eats the most? [The Ex's son] •Pickiest eater? [The Ex's daughter] •Who sleeps the longest? [The Ex's daughter] •S...

Holiday Crazy 2020.

Now that both of the kids are over 18, Husband (and by association, myself) have been spared this year's dose of Holiday Crazy.  However, Daughter sure got an abundant serving of it.  The Ex has been digging into Son too, but I actually witnessed it with Daughter.   We went to visit some of Husband's family over Thanksgiving.  Typically when we go on a family visit, we go to see who he calls his parents; Husband grew up with and was raised by his grandparents, so that is who he considers his mom and dad, but we still have a good relationship with his biological mom.  While we were visiting, Husband's biological mom offered to fly us to his home state so that we could spend Christmas with his parents.  Husband said we'd like to go but I'd already used all my vacation this year and couldn't take another week off of work.  His mom asked if he wanted to go by himself; I told Husband that I was completely fine with this because I was actually t...
